Tom is a 1984 graduate of the US Naval Academy, who earned his Naval Surface Warfare Qualification prior to graduating Basic Underwater Demolition / SEAL Class 142. He was a SEAL Platoon Commander during Operation Desert Storm, where he led a deception mission which held Iraqi troops in defensive positions on the coast as the Allied ground forces commenced their assault in Kuwait.
